Palazzo Bianco has a magnificent historic garden, with an eighteenth-century layout that requires numerous interventions to restore its former value, strengthening the original decorative and spatial elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the first half of 2024, an important restoration work began by the Municipality of Genoa supported by UNESCO with the contribution of Friends of Genoa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In particular, the project developed along four main lines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A) restauri della fontana e del ninfeo, compresi gli apparati scultorei;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
B) restoration of the stone floors including the geometric patterned mosaic (risseu) that surrounds the fountain;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
C) reconstitution of the borders, currently decidedly damaged and no longer capable of restoring the spatiality and geometry typical of the Italian garden: the focus will be on both hedges and grassy surfaces, but interventions are also planned in relation to potted plants, climbers and large trees;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
D) scenographic lighting of the garden in order to enhance the green element, the fountains and the paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, small building interventions are also planned aimed at the general rearrangement of the decoration of the garden including: construction of an iron gate, restoration of walkable metal gratings, dismantling portions of the lighting system no longer in use, masking external bodies of air conditioning machines of offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
